What is the meaning of the wording that is used in relation to the authenticity of an artwork?

A work created in the atelier of Α. Αrtin by his student/s, with or without the guidance of the artist. Original in direct relation to the artist, not his own; can be signed by the artist himself.

Original on (canvas) in the manner of Α. Artin (1917 – 1989)
An artwork created according the work manner of the artist Α. Artin.

…. signed lower right: “Α. Artin” (1917 – 1989)
A genuine work of doubtful authenticity, signed by the artist or by another person.
